Announcements: March 9, 2025
Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church
The First Sunday in Lent on March 9, 2025
Deuteronomy 26:1-11 Romans 10:8b-13
Luke 4:1-13 The Temptation of Jesus
4 And Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit in the wilderness 2 for forty days, being tempted by the devil. And he ate nothing during those days. And when they were ended, he was hungry. 3 The devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread.” 4 And Jesus answered him, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone.’” 5 And the devil took him up and showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time, 6 and said to him, “To you I will give all this authority and their glory, for it has been delivered to me, and I give it to whom I will. 7 If you, then, will worship me, it will all be yours.” 8 And Jesus answered him, “It is written,
“‘You shall worship the Lord your God and him only shall you serve.’” 9 And he took him to Jerusalem and set him on the pinnacle of the temple and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down from here, 10 for it is written, “‘He will command his angels concerning you, to guard you,’ 11 and “‘On their hands they will bear you up lest you strike your foot against a stone.’”
12 And Jesus answered him, “It is said, ‘You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.’” 13 And when the devil had ended every temptation, he departed from him until an opportune time.

LIFE TOGETHER
VISITORS: We are so glad you joined us today. We collect offerings during our worship services. While we
believe this is a chance for each believer to be a good steward of the gifts they have received from God, you are welcome but not expected to give an offering while you are our guest. If you would like to learn more about the Lord’s ministry here at Trinity please call Pastor Rutz.
He would love to get acquainted and visit at a time that is convenient for you. You are also invited to join members in the fellowship hall after this morning’s service.
Attendance Cards: Visitors and members are asked to fill out an attendance card and to list names of each family member in attendance. Turn in your card at the back of the church at the end of the service.
On Sundays when there is Holy Communion please list the names of those who will be communing on the Holy Communion registration side of the card. Hand it to an usher as you go up for communion.
If you have moved or your phone number or email address have changed, please note any changes on the attendance card so that we can update our records in the office.
Weekly bulletins, announcements, and sermons continue to be available on the church website.
Children in the Divine Service Sheets are available from the basket in the back of the church. Parents are encouraged to read these to/with their children. Each week will have a short explanation of a different part of the church service or about something found in the church. They are other way to aid parents in teaching their children.
Clothing with Trinity’s logo: Order your church attire today! Orders can only be placed online with a credit or debit card. Alexis Swanson is available in Fellowship Hall after church for anyone needing help placing an order. The online store closes TOMORROW, March 10 at 9 AM. Scan the QR code on the flyers hanging around church or use this weblink to order: https://tinyurl.com/3kk298v5

Thank you to everyone who helped share my 90th birthday. I feel blessed to have such great people in my life. From Bert Ehm
Thank You: The family of Ellen Brown thank all those at Trinity Lutheran Church for the cards, memorials, hugs and memories in our loss of her. One of God’s countless blessings here on earth is our church friends who become family. Ellen and Charlie were so blessed in seamlessly moving from Zion in LuVerne to St. John’s in Sanborn to Trinity in Creston. The addresses and names changed but our church home remained steadfast and that church’s one foundation is Jesus Christ, her Lord. We know that our Redeemer lives!
JANITOR JOB OPENING
We thank Cindy Isdahl for being Trinity’s janitor for a number of years. She has done a great job and for that we are grateful.
Cindy plans to retire from this job the end of March. Beginning April 1, we will need someone to take over the janitor position. If you are interested or for more information please speak to Rick Hadley, chairman of the board of trustees.
