Jesus Calls the First Disciples
On one occasion, while the crowd was pressing in on him to hear the word of God, he was standing by the lake of Gennesaret, 2 and he saw two boats by the lake, but the fishermen had gone out of them and were washing their nets. 3 Getting into one of the boats, which was Simon's, he asked him to put out a little from the land. And he sat down and taught the people from the boat. 4 And when he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” 5 And Simon answered, “Master, we toiled all night and took nothing! But at your word I will let down the nets.” 6 And when they had done this, they enclosed a large number of fish, and their nets were breaking. 7 They signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink. 8 But when Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord.” 9 For he and all who were with him were astonished at the catch of fish that they had taken, 10 and so also were James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, “Do not be afraid; from now on you will be catching men.”[a] 11 And when they had brought their boats to land, they left everything and followed him.

LIFE TOGETHER
VISITORS: We are so glad you joined us today. We do collect offerings during our worship services. While we
believe this is a chance for each believer to be a good steward of the gifts they have received from God, you are welcome but not expected to give an offering while you are our guest. If you would like to learn more about the Lord’s ministry here at Trinity please call Pastor Rutz.
He would love to get acquainted and visit at a time that is convenient for you. You are also invited to join members in the fellowship hall after this morning’s service.
Attendance Cards: Visitors and members are asked to fill out an attendance card and to list names of each family member in attendance. Turn in your card at the back of the church at the end of the service.
On Sundays when there is Holy Communion please list the names of those who will be communing on the Holy Communion registration side of the card. Hand it to an usher as you go up for communion.
If you have moved or your phone number or email address have changed, please note any changes on the attendance card so that we can update our records in the office.
Weekly bulletins, announcements, and sermons continue to be available on the church website.
Children in the Divine Service Sheets are available from the basket in the back of the church. Parents are encouraged to read these to/with their children. Each week will have a short explanation of a different part of the church service or about something found in the church. They another way to aid parents in teaching their children.

Building Healthy Families: Are you a Hallmark movie fan? If so, you know the familiar story line: big city woman in crisis returns to her hometown, reluctantly gets pulled into an effort to rally the community around some cause, reconnects with local man who frustrates her plans at every turn but who in the end fulfills all her dreams, and happy ever after begins. While entertaining, these stories can intensify feelings of unrest for the more than 50% of us who are single and living alone, who have never found or have lost our special someone, and also for the less than 50% who are married but whose marriage doesn’t always look like the one depicted by Hallmark. This Valentine’s Day, remember that God – the author and source of love – created us to live in families and communities where love is shared. He is the only one who never fails to meet our need to be seen, connected, cared for, and loved. This week, skip Hallmark and celebrate God’s amazing love! (1 John 4:16)

Thank You
To all my dear friends at Trinity-Thank you all so much for remembering me during my recent "adventure" with my heart and hospital stay. I received so many cards, phone calls/texts and many, many prayers. Thank you Pastor Rutz, the Preschool, the Circles and so many individuals. I can't begin to tell you what they all meant. God was certainly in control when He threw in an extra surgery for me to go through. He certainly works in mysterious ways! The rehab is going well and helping me along. I will never forget all your kindnesses. Feel free to keep in touch and many blessings to all of you. (And I have a very special Caregiver that is outstanding!) Blessings, Maggie Dory
